Requirements for the Introductory Class are a willingness to move, learn, and get out of your comfort zone! No dance experience is required to take this class!
Requirements to take the Level 1: Beginner Walk-In Classes:
Have completed the Introductory Class and can effectively execute the Modern Country Swing basic.
Lead's Waistline Turn and Follow's Underarm Turn
Stay on a 3 count rhythm (with or without holds)
Follow correct floor pattern (Lead travels to D, Follow travels to B)
We recommend that students have taken the Introductory Class 2-3 times. If you can also execute the Basic in a Two-Handed Hold, this will help you further succeed starting the Level 1: Beginner level classes.
Requirements to take the Level 1: Beginner Workshops:
Have completed the 4-5 of the Level 1: Beginner Walk-In Classes.
Can execute the Basic in Standard Hold, Right Handed Hold, and Two-Handed Hold.
Can execute any two extended basics (Lasso Turn, Armbar Turn, Arch Turn, Barrel Roll, Pass-by Turn)
Can setup, execute, and exit from any Dip.
Can maintain 1-Step and QQS timing for each of the moves listed above.
Requirements to take the Level 2: Novice Walk-In Classes:
Have completed at least 12 unique Level 1: Beginner Walk In Classes
Can execute all Basics on time in QQS and 1-Step, using the correct floor pattern
Waistline, Underarm, Right Handed, Two-Handed, and Facing variations
Can execute one variation of each Extended Basic on time in QQS and 1-Step, using the correct floor pattern
Lasso Turn, Armbar Turn, Arch Turn, Barrel Roll, Pass-by Turn
Can setup, execute, and exit at least one variation of the dip from both Standard and Alternate Footing
Includes setting the dip on time for a phrase change, and expressing Opportunity
Can demonstrate a basic application of the below techniques 50% of the time:
Connection and creating tension.
Proper floor patterns for each move demonstrated.
Body angling and turning technique.
Peeling, Beveling, orĀ Tendu while striking on time.
Counting in segments and counting in 8s/2s.
Finding the tempo and beat of a song.
Creating a pause in your dance.

Requirements to take the Level 2: Novice Workshops:
All criteria for the Level 2: Novice Walk-In Classes including the workshops
Have attended at least three Level 2: Novice Walk-In Classes
Requirements to take the Level 3: Intermediate Walk-In Classes:
Can keep timing for 1-Step and QQS
Can demonstrate appropriate floor patterns
Can demonstrate Novice level connection technique including changes in speed
Can demonstrate counter balance and proper settling timing and technique
Can demonstrate Novice level striking technique
Can demonstrate basic mirroring and styling technique for their role
Can demonstrate consistent phrase change emphasis movements, and lyrical or accent emphasis.
Can add basic syncopations to at least 3 movement patterns
Can demonstrate these techniques in at least 2 moves from the following movement patterns:
Basics
Extended Basics
Whips
Intermediate Position
Dip
Orbital 2-Handed Tangles (Open or Crossed Holds)
Linear 2-Handed Tangles (Open or Crossed Holds)

We recommend students have completed the following:
