Our standard country swing intensive courses teach the technique, timing, rhythms, connection, musicality, and stylization for dancers to take their country swing dancing to the next level.
Developed to help prepare dancers for both national social swing dancing and national standard modern country swing competition, these courses are 8 weeks each, building on dance concepts to create a solid understanding of dance in general, and what makes quality modern country swing dancing.
Space for these courses are limited to 30 dancers.
Partners are not needed, but are encouraged.

The 100 level intensive courses are designed to prepare students for beginner level modern country swing competitions. By the end of this set of courses, students will have a strong understanding of the dance concepts of floor patterns, connection, rhythm, timing, musicality, stylization, teamwork, and showmanship needed to compete at beginner level competitions with confidence and skill.
Country Swing 101
Modern Country Swing Basics
This course introduces the basics of country swing and variations with emphasis in beginner connection technique, floor patterns, and rhythm.
No prior dance experience is required for this course.

Country Swing 102
Double Turns, Connection,
and Stylization
This course builds on the 101 class by introducing various types of double turns that add changes in speed, rhythms, and floor patterns to the dance. Additional connection and timing techniques are also practiced throughout the course.
An beginner understanding of stylization and showmanship is also practiced throughout the course.
Completion of our 101 course is required to sign up for this class. You can also test into this course.

Country Swing 103
Intermediate Positions, Rhythms,
and Musicality
This course introduces the intermediate position, syncopations, and stagger step rhythm, how to execute moves in orbit and linear, and how to better understand various methods of timing. It includes sweetheart, cuddle, and hammerlock positions. This course also focuses on what basic musicality is and techniques to use basic musicality.
Completion of our 102 course is required to sign up for this class. You can also test into this course.

Testing for 101, 102, and 103
Our 102, 103, 104, and 200 level courses require completion of prior courses for acceptance of registration.
Students with prior experience in Modern Country Swing can demonstrate their understanding and skills and test out of courses in order to begin at the level their current skills allow for.
Each tests costs $25.
Each tests takes approximately an hour and a half. Passing is not guaranteed.
Students are required to verbally explain concepts pertinent to each course, and sufficiently demonstrate required technique and moves.
We recommend taking private lessons from one of our instructors in preparation for testing to develop any knowledge or skills necessary to pass the course that may be missing from your current understanding or repertoire.

Country Swing 104
Intermediate Techniques
This course begins to present intermediate level technique that prepare students for more complex motions, increasing their range of expression in Modern Country Swing Dancing. With a daily focus on aspects of their technique, styling, musicality, connection, and showmanship, this course also sets a base foundation for students interested in competing.
Completion of our 103 course is required to sign up for this class. You can also test into this course.
Completion of the 104 course is not required to enter the 200 level courses, but is highly recommended. Dual enrollment in both 104 and 200 is offered with special pricing.
The 200 level intensive curriculum is designed to prepare students for improver/intermediate modern country swing competitions. By the end of this set of courses, students will have a deep understanding of the dance concepts of floor patterns, connection, rhythm, timing, musicality, stylization, and showmanship, an intermediate level extensive repertoire, and basic skill sets for creating new and unique movement patterns and rhythms.
The curriculum contains multiple eight week courses, with each eight week course focusing on a different set of related motions, and develops using those motions with technique, stylization, musicality, showmanship, and opportunity. Daily technique drills are also presented to help students polish the moves they already learned.
Any student who has completed the 103 level course can enter into any of the 200 level courses at any time, and 200 level courses do not have to be taken in order. Each course is designed to develop combination moves that align with specific movement patterns, and each will include a range of technique drills, and types of moves to create those combinations.
